In Memorium

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Friends of Camp Perry member and Trustee Marcia Hess. Marcia passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 from surgical complications. Marcia had been active in the Friends of Camp Perry for the last several years and had helped out at the pop-up shoots. Marcia had been involved in the shooting sports for many years with her husband John. They had spent many a summer at the National Matches at Camp Perry with their children as well as traveling around the country to police and civilian competitions. Marcia always talked about how she made the huts livable for her family when they stayed in them for the Matches. An avid seamstress, in recent years she enjoyed making quilts from t-shirts and hats that John had collected from the Camp Perry Matches. An example of which has been on display in the display case in Building 3 In Processing during the Matches. Even in her later years, Marcia continued to shoot, shooting in a winter bowling pin league at a legion post in Cleveland managing to garner several trophies. She will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve.

FOCP wishes to all those who attended Marcia's memorial service!
